The central square of Prague's medeival district becomes a large market where delighted visitors can find wooden toys, candles, jewellery, metal-ware, embroidered cloth and much more. But the true prizes of the market are the hand-painted Easter eggs. Women dressed up in beautiful traditional clothes can even personalize these eggs by writing a private message or a name. The whole place is filled with savories as there are stalls where locals are preparing tasty traditional food. Barbequed sausages and roasted pigs are among the favorites. These aren’t really the healthiest dishes in the world, but this is no time to be counting cholesterol. Of course, the famous traditional Pilsner beer should also be mentioned. The Easter Market is a great feast displaying the richness of the Czech culture and tradition.
