A celebration of New Zealand’s Pacific heritage, Pacifika is a showcase for the traditional music, dance, crafts and culture of the Pacific Islands. Visitors will be among approximately 200,000 people who turn out for the event and will be entertained with traditional performances, craft workshops and fed by over 150 food stalls serving a variety of traditional Pacific island dishes. The event is split up into ‘Villages’ created by individual island communities representing nine islands, where the culture of that island is showcased.
The big event of the festival is the opening night concert where the festivals best acts perform.
