Undoubtedly the most gratuitous exhibition of chocolate in all its most dangerous forms, the annual October to November Salon du Chocolat displays chocolate buildings, chocolate animals, chocolate underwear and chocolate fine art, as well as a chocolate fashion show in which celebrities parade before the audience in clothes made of chocolate. But it is quite possible to set frivolities aside and get down to the very grave matter of chocolate for chocolate’s sake alongside the professionals, at the chocolate tasting events and cookery and manufacturing demonstrations. There is also a vast and glorious array of the stuff available for purchase.
