Festival sur le Niger

This three day festival embraces music, dancing, artwork and exhibitions – all on the banks of the Niger River. The festival is a celebration of the local music and customs from around the Segou region. Participants bang drums, don masks, fire guns and dance in the streets. The purpose of Festival sur le Niger is to bring together people from all nationalities and backgrounds, hoping to unite together and learn about each other’s differences.
