If you thought the French were too cool for the rest of Europe you were mistaken, Paris is all class but in Trie-sur-Baïse they're not afraid to make themselves look tres silly for at least one day in August when the town hosts the annual Festival of the Pig. Not just a celebration of the way they taste there is a competition for the best pig outfit, you can bet of a piglet race, compete to be the best sausage eater or else contest the main event: The Pig Imitating Competition and aural extravaganza where competitors must squeal like a pig. And not just any pig squeal will do, you have to imitate pigs along the pathways of their lives, emit their birth squeals, their feeding squeals, and their squeals in coitus.
If your ears can still take it after all the squealing there are live bands and dancing in the evening after they hog roast the losers of course – only kidding!
