Fireworks displays are becoming increasingly more spectacular as people have started to need more than just bright colours and loud bangs to elicit their ooohhhs and aaahhhhs. Displays are now expected to be choreographed to music with ever dramatic effects and the annual Celebration of Light: Symphony of Fire extravaganza is at the forefront of this movement. It’s a friendly competition but a competition no less for the title of “Master of Fire and Synchronicity”, held in English Bay, Lake Ontario, and in Cape Town. Canada invites two other countries to participate each year - each country is allowed a night of their own (Wednesdays and Saturdays over two weeks at 10pm) to put on their best, musically inclined show, followed by a spectacular combined effort on the final night. Held in late July or early August.

South Africa takes big hit as show will not go on!!!! Due to inclenent weather show will not go on. Shows will continue Wednesday.
