Skydiving anywhere is pretty high on the list of adrenalin pumping, heart racing, death defying pastimes. It’s the only flying experience where the body reaches terminal velocity and many skydivers believe it’s the closest feeling humans can have to flying. Experienced skydivers will tell you that in freefall we can do anything a bird can, turn, rotate, increase or decrease speed (but not go upwards) and that it doesn’t feel like falling: your speed doesn’t increase, but more like floating.

At 2,500 feet above the ground you open your parachute and really begin to float, steering towards your landing, catching your breath and enjoying the peace and freedom of hovering above the earth.

On your first jump you won’t have to worry about the details of what position to take and how and WHEN to open your parachute as you’ll be taken in tandem with an instructor - you just have to overcome the fear of jumping out of a plane for the first time and enjoy your first flight like a baby bird.

The Moab desert, with it’s graceful canyons the colours of a sunset, makes a particularly beautiful target to fall towards. It also has plenty of clear skies and sunny skydiving days and that extra edge of the dangerous and unrelenting environment to heighten the flow of adrenalin.
