This is one of the furthest bungee drops n the world: 134 metres or 8.5 seconds of air between plunging from the tower and the moment where you're as close to the raging Nevis River as you're going to get before you're ricochetted back upwards. The surrounds, as you stand on the platform, held between two mountain peaks with thick steel cables, are craggily stunning: bare and rocky ranges backed by bright and empty blue sky. You get to the platform in the glass bottomed 'bungy pod' which is a daring enough thing in itself – and despite their 100% safety record you're still able to back out at the last minute, while you're sitting in 'The Chair' having your legs strapped together, in which case the pod ride will still be a pretty exciting part of your day.
