43 metres up. On a bridge. With your ankles strapped together attached to a thick cord. Contemplating life, death, fate and the decisions that lead humankind to want to jump off things at great height and bounce back towards them. This is bungee (or bungy) and this is the world's original commercial bungee site: it's been going since 1988 and thousands of people come here to throw themselves into oblivion each month.

As the years since this first commercial site started counting people down into the chasm over the river have past the options have increased. Now you can do more then just fall (or jump) and bounce, you're able to fall forwards or backwards, somersault or spin in the air, miss the river below entirely, let your fingertips touch it, or get dunked into it. But it's still the actual leaving the platform that's the biggest decision to make.
