The tallest dunes in North America, Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado have attracted visitors for nearly 11,000 years. The area was favored by Stone Age people, Native Americans, Spanish explorers and early American pioneers. Today the area is perfect for visitors of all tastes and backgrounds. With plenty of options for recreation, exploration, dinning and lodging, a trip to Great Sand Dunes National Park can be tailored as you see fit.

 Recreation options include hiking and backpacking, sand boarding, skiing and sledding, horseback riding and ranger-led programs.
