This paved trail is well marked and cared for and is a good route to begin tour cycling on being the longest paved trail in Florida. It runs through small pretty towns and attractive countryside from Citrus Springs, Citrus County to Trilby, Pasco County. The highlight of the trail must be the section following the Withacoochee River on it’s floodplain, with it’s attractive system of lakes not easily accessible by car. Expect to be wary of alligators, snakes and snapping turtles and so see a varied array of bird life including pelicans.
