Running 225 miles across the state of Missouri, the Katy Trail is a unique destination drawing bikers and hikers from across the country. Once a railway, it was transformed in 1986 into a nature trail. From St. Charles to Clinton, Missouri, the trail closely follows the banks of the Missouri River and allows visitors to experience the natural beauty and wildlife of the state in a new way.
In addition to the natural beauty Missouri holds, the trail also brings light to many charming towns that once thrived along the railroad. Visitors can tour the wineries of Augusta, historic downtown St. Charles, or even the state capital of Jefferson City all by way of the Katy Trail. The Katy Trail is a wonderful place to visit, whether for a vacation or just an afternoon.
