Cycling through Uganda

Listed under Cycling in Jinja, Uganda.

Uganda – described by Winston Churchill as the “Pearl of Africa”, is one of Africa’s most beautiful countries.

This biking route follows a large figure-of-eight from the port town of Entebbe and return to the capital, Kampala.

The trip covers a wide range of landscape and terrain with the bulk of the biking on little used dirt and back roads. The route includes using local boats to get across to remote islands both on Lake Victoria and on the Nile River, biking through a National Park amongst the wildlife, through original rainforest and through the rural areas and villages that rarely see foreigners.

The itinerary has been planned to allow time to help on local community projects, try some of the adventure activities near Uganda’s adventure capital, Jinja and to meet and chat with the local people or just sit back and watch life go on in true relaxed Ugandan style.
