This building also goes under the name of “The J Edgar Hoover FBI Building”. It's a functional looking concrete thing where it looks like things as mundane as creating new tax laws might be being done, but I'm pretty sure there's a lot more of interest than that.

You used to be able to go on guided tour of the inside – which were one of the best things to do in Washington (they showed you lots of secret stuff.). Unfortunately they're not running them at the moment (probably because of all the secret stuff), but if that changes you'll find out here.

If you're wondering why it's so conspicuously ugly, it's not because they were trying to make it inconspicuous, rather because it was constructed in a 'Brutalist' architectural style in poured concrete. That would be about right.
