Portorož, Piran, is near the northern most point of the Adriatic, enjoying plenty of sunshine – an average of 2334 hours a year, and plenty of warm weather in the summer. These are the reasons that people are starting to discover it as a holiday destination, but Slovenians have known this for ages. Which is why there's already a bit casino and marina complex here – it's like Monte Carlo in Slovenia.
