Romantic poets sought a return to nature and the sublime. Wordsworth arguably achieved this “a few miles above” this famous Wye-Valley Abbey. The spectacular Cistercian foundation has an eerie, mystical feel to it, which really comes alive at night when the abbey glows with light.
