In 330 AD the emperor Constantine commissioned the construction of a basilica in the place where the crypt with the relics of the saint. The interior of the basilica onoriana has three aisles divided by twenty-two columns, wooden ceiling trusses and floor Cosmatesque the thirteenth. La basilica pelagiana era invece strutturata a tre navate con matronei preceduti da endonartece. The basilica Pelagian was structured in three naves with women's galleries preceded by endonartece. Il presbiterio, inquadrato da colonne scanalate di pavonazzetto con basi ioniche e capitelli corinzi, è sovrastato dalla bella trabeazione [IV°] scandita da trofei di armi e fogliami. The presbytery, framed by columns of fluted Ionic pavonazzetto with bases and Corinthian capitals, is dominated by beautiful trabeation [fourth] marked by trophies of arms and foliage. In counter frescoes Caesar Fracassini, along the right aisle in the Chapel of S, Tarcisio 'S. Ciriaca that seppelisce St. Lawrence' Emilio Savonanzi [1619] and 'Beheading of the Baptist' John Serodine. [1619] Dal chiostro della cappella si accede alla Catacombe di S.Ciriaca [lunedì, mercoledì, venerdì 9-12] dove sono conservate alcune interessanti pitture. [1619] Since the chapel cloisters access to the Catacombs of St. Ciriaca [Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9-12] where they kept some interesting paintings.
