One of the biggest and best examples of the medieval philosophy of what a church should be about – Glory to God at Mans Expense. Built in a very English material, flint, Holy Trinity is a church that has always been far larger than the village population required, but with that size came the facility to do all sorts of processions and events within it. In the north side of the building are windows filled with original glass, dating from the late 1400’s, a rarity in much of England which shows the donors of the glass and the financial backers of this vast and wonderful building. It is light, airy, grand, functional and full of small detail for the casual visitor as well as stating by its presence the importance of the Church in the cultural history of the village. Only 3 miles from Sudbury, there are also a number of antique shops and places to take refreshment that will make a very pleasant outing.
