Stockholm Christmas Market is another market steeped in tradition. The city's oldest neighborhood, Gamla Stan, operates the Christmas market in Stortorget Square. You can walk down Drottninggatan, one of the city's longest pedestrian streets, and marvel at all of the intricately decorated shop windows - they make a big deal of these. The market offers handcrafted toys and ornaments, and a vast array of native, seasonal foods. Also check out Stockholm's famous open air museum, Skansen, which is transformed for Christmas.
