The theme of the '12 Days of Christmas Market' at George's Dock in Dublin is described as a 'chance to re-live all the best bits', and indeed, you'll discover hot chocolate, mince pies, crepes, apple punch, brass bands, face painting, art workshops, toys, a restored old carousel and other fairground rides as well as the usual gift and decoration shopping options.

As the night draws in, the fairy lights shine on the water and make for a heartwarming view, despite the modern surroundings. Santa will be there in his grotto to meet children and accept their letters, but apparently he won't turn away grown-ups either...

I'm actually travelling to United states for christmas and my sis googled christmas in her area to find out about her area and what was going on this christmas. So I had a few minutes today and decided to see what a similar search would give me here in Dublin. And Hey presto I found out about this Christmas market in the docklands. I never knew about it and I intend visiting this year. It's never too late to learn about your own area. I will write a gain after been to tell you how I get on.
