The Puymartin Castle was built in the 13th century and has a storied history. Its ownership has changed several times in its 800 year existence, beginning with the English in 1357. During the 19th century, the Marquis de Carbonnier de Marzac restored the castle in a neo-gothic style. Several big buildings form the castle and are connected through large round towers. The interior is lavishly decorated and has high quality furnishings, as well as French-style ceilings, wooden fireplaces and painted panels.
