This masterpiece of Gothic architecture was founded in 1348 as a place to keep the accumulating royal treasures, holy relics and the Roman Empire‘s coronation accoutrements. This treasure was kept there for most of the following 200 years. Most recently re-done in the 18th Century, the castle is built on rising levels, going up from the wall up five levels to the 60m angular towers.
