Glamis Castle sat in the valley of Strathmore is, apparently, the most haunted castle in Scotland (Macbeth's Duncan was supposedly murdered here). A big favourite with generations of royals, it retains a deliciously posh air; all spires, turrets and towers. The wife of the sixth Lord Glamis is a regular visitor to the chapel. She burned at the stake on Edinburgh Castle hill in 1537.

This beautiful castle is located in Strathmore valley next to the village of Glamis, and is entirely surrounded by wild, rolling hills.
Best known as the childhood home of the Queen Mother, it is architecturally very impressive and has an air of romance and fantasy about it, generated by the tall turrets, statues and formal gardens.
Adjacent to the atmospheric Victorian dining room is the crypt which, according to local myth, contains access to a secret chamber where an Earl Crawford is said to have lost his soul to the Devil in a game of cards. The game is reportedly re-enacted in the chamber still, and sounds of swearing and rattling dice are often heard there.
The Grey Lady who supposedly haunts the chapel is believed to have been Janet Douglas, falsely accused of witchcraft by James V and burned at the stake.
Famous Irish castle-hotels, pastoral Cotswold landscapes, mystical Loch Lomond and of course vibrant London are just some of the highlights here.
