Surrounded by the Indre River, construcion on the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau began in 1514. The chateau's design was greatly influenced by the Italian Renaissance, of which architectural style it is an exquisite example. Rich tapestries and historical paintings adorn the halls of this 16th century chateau. Visitors can take guided tours, or DIY audio guides.
