In the mid 15th century the Campbell Earls of Argyll built a four storey tower on an older mound in a delightful location between two burns in Dollar Glen. It stands at the NE corner of a small court with walls and a gatehouse of c1600, when the tower was given its uppermost vault. The wall-walk above is accessible, giving delightful views. Part of the east range of apartments is still roofed but the main hall and chambers dating from the 16th century on the south side are ruined. They overlook a series of garden terraces.
