Surrounded by paddy fields and nestled between coconut palms and bougainvillea are seven traditional Rajasthani hunting tents which make up the Yogamagic Resort. This is a place that focuses heavily on care of body and environment, with even toilet waste being put to good use (the banana trees thrive on it apparently). The tents offer the chance to be close to nature without compromising comfort- each intricately decorated and furnished. This is a camp where it would be impossible not to feel a bit in touch with your soul- in fact, it is its big draw card. Numerous holistic activities are on offer, from yoga to ayurvedic massage. There is a meditation room, zen garden and lagoon pool which all offer spots for some spiritual relaxation. Organic vegetarian food is on the menu, as are fresh fruit juices- a great time for a detox. The camp is in a convenient spot, with the beach 2km away, and close to the local bird sanctuary and Anjuna, famous for its Wednesday flee markets. Yogamagic offers something unique and certainly, the open-air bamboo showers and squat toilets are a great talking point. Closed between April until mid-November.
