Red Squirrel Campsite is not too rough and not too fancy, yet completely worthwhile. Scotland is famous for its unadulterated beauty which is celebrated by the Scots who strive to keep it real. You get reminded of this at Red Squirrel campsite, which blends into its natural surroundings and is a regular roaming ground of red deer and some game birds. Situated along the Coe river, this site lets campers experience this beauty with its easy-going style, where thankfully, caravans are banned. We were free to pitch up our tent just about anywhere. The lightly-wooded campsite is situated in a valley, surrounded by five spectacular mountains. There is a night-time rule of silence, but campfires are permitted until 11pm. The nearby village of Glen Coe is historic, peaceful and friendly. This is the perfect site to get away from it all and back into nature, and its unique rustic atmosphere is spoken for by its incredible popularity.
