In the remote region of central Iceland, there is not much in the way of convenient amenities. In Arbudir, the closest you’ll get to luxury is a small wooden cabin with a toilet inside. On the reverse side, if it’s a survival-of-the-fittest style camping break you’re after, then this nomadic location might be just right. The Icelandic landscape is ancient, un-spoilt and sprawling, and being in the middle of it in a tent can be a daunting and beautiful prospect, so I do recommend coming well prepared.
