Lovely views of the North Devon coast are this site's main attraction, but some people ramble over from the South West Coast Path, Britain's longest walking way, an some stay here for its proximity to the UNESCO biosphere at Braunton Burrows.
The cliff the site perches on has been shaped into terraces so almost every pitch gets a scenic view of the Atlantic over Watermouth Bay. The down side of the terraces and the views are that staying here involves a lot of going up and down – it's impossible to avoid it: if you're staying at the top you have to walk down to use the facilities and then back up to your pitch. There's no bar or restaurant on site, but there's a pub a ten minute walk away, and the nearest town is quite close, though involves another uphill slog.
Your dogs are welcome as long as they don't mind hills either, and this site is perfect for lovers of peace, quite and scenic exercise.
