This campsite differs from other charming rural French sites with its private beach on the Ardeche. The spectacular limestone cliffs of the nearby gorges add a certain je ne sais quois and the whole package is ideal for canoeing and kayaking over gentle stretches of water or rapids. The Pont d’Arc, the famous natural 200ft high stone bridge over the gorge and river that carved it is within walking distance, so another unique and notable feature.

Don't be put off by the name, the clapas in question isn't something you'd pick up from Spanish sailors, it means piles of rocks – in this case rocks from the private beach. Well, pebbles. With rounded edges.
