Kings Pool is without doubt the most luxurious of the camps in the Linyanti Concession. Overlooking the Kings Pool Lagoon and Linyanti River the accommodation is in 9 huge taught canvas tents with thatched roofs raised on wooden platforms, complete with your own private plunge pools.
The rooms themselves are dominated by huge four poster beds, draped beautifully with mosquito netting and covered with soft linen. The most lavish en suite bathrooms have his and hers basins, outdoor showers and if one wasn’t already enough, 2 more indoor showers to choose from. The large decking area outside each room plays host to the plunge pool, sun-loungers and a sala for catching a snooze after too many midday cocktails before your afternoon safari.
The lounge, dining area (food here is simply fantastic) and bar area face out over a wide expanse of decking onto the hippo filled pool below. Each night before dinner, everyone joins around the fire and chats until dinner is served before returning to their room to appreciate the sky at night from the comfort of their sala. Waking up here the following morning is not uncommon and highly recommended.
Kings Pool provides a great base to explore all that the Linyanti can offer. From the famous prides of resident lion regularly spotted on game drives to a peaceful sun downer whilst floating down the Linyanti River, a stay here will be remembered forever; just don’t forget to spend half a day in their elephant hide as at ground level you cannot afford to miss seeing an elephant from toe high!
