The Concordia Eco-Camp is located on the southern tip of St. John (the least populated of the Virgin Islands) and staying there could surely convert even the most highly-strung traveller into a relaxed islander. The Eco-Camp is the latest development in the Concordia project, which promotes the concept of being close to nature without stealing resources and destroying it. The hill-side Eco-tents all have spectacular views over the Caribbean and are surrounded by hundreds of acres of national parkland. The tents, all made from recycled materials, are spacious and airy with their own private decks, great for sundowners. Staying true to eco-camp philosophy, the camp is solar powered, with composting toilets and elevated walkways connecting tents, to minimise harmful soil erosion. Half and hour from the camp is the white-sanded Maho Bay, where the waters seem to be made for scuba diving and snorkelling.
