Magnificent ox-bow lagoons set the scene for this camp set deep within the South Luangwa National Park. Located a short distance by road from Mfuwe Airport, Chamilandu overlooks the Nchendeni Hills 2 miles away.

Guest numbers are limited to 6, staying in 3 chalets made of wood 10ft above the ground and offer breathtaking views over the lagoons and the Luangwa river. Four-poster beds and rooms furnished with a blend of wrought iron and creams are relaxing and indulgent.

Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo, Antelope and many birds such as Kingfishers and eagles are frequent visitors to the lagoons for a drink and to wallow in their waters. You are unlikely to see any other tourists while at Chamilandu and can enjoy early morning walks with an armed scout and expert guide, before enjoying brunch and a relax in the afternoon.

After the lunchtime sun, a game drive in an open vehicle allows you to venture further into the bush ands gives guests the opportunity to see the herds of larger animals. A walk before dusk will work up an appetite for a fantastic evening meal, overlooking the lagoon.
