Blackberry Wood offers rural camping as it should be. Set in a woodland at the foot of the South Downs, it is literally a breath of fresh air. One of twenty clearings in the woodland provides the perfect spot to pitch a tent. Free of neighbours, unsightly caravans and noise pollution, the rich variety of birds will serenade you into the evening, when it will be time to light a rustic campfire. Unlike many other campsites, this one encourages campers to make open fires.
The campsite provides basic facilities, the open-air showers in the woodland proving rather memorable. For daytime activities, the area offers a variety of walks and bike trails across the South Downs. Brighton is also a comfortable 25 minutes by car. Recently voted “The Coolest Campsite in England”, Blackberry Wood offers a easy retreat into unadulterated nature and a rare taste of traditional camping. Open all year, pets welcome.
