The atmospheric and famous names along say a lot - Murchison Falls National Park, Budongo Forest and the Royal Mile, Queen Elizabeth NP, or the Bwindi-Impenetrable Forest, all great destinations for good reason. Murchison has the spectacular falls where the Victoria Nile plunges through a chasm that you could almost jump across, abundant hippos and crocodiles, herds of elephant, giraffe and buffalo and the strange and bizarre Shoebill dwelling in the papyrus swamps, plus a great variety of birds including Rock Pratincole, Denham's Bustard, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Blue-breasted Kingfisher and Swallow-tailed Bee-eater. Budongo is a superb birding spot with many west and central African species just entering Uganda here- Dwarf and Chocolate-backed kingfishers, White-thighed Hornbill, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher, Ituri Batis and many others are all accessible here, and with a good chance of seeing chimpanzees in the wild.
