This name only came about because this bay is west of Dale. It's the kind of place that is overlooked in other ways as well, admired only by the locals and people who lose their way trying to find the Dale Yacht Club. But it's not kept quiet because it's not worth knowing about – it's just that the cliffs that protect this perfect golden rim of sand from the wind also protect it from view so not many people discover it – despite it being one of the nicest beaches in the UK if you value traits like clean sand and sea, ad lovely line of cliffs not to steep for walking tracks, and a grassy apron between the cliffs and the beach.

But the best thing is that you won't have to share it with many other people.
