The water here is Baltic: in both the literal sense and the fact that it's cold. It's a lovely looking spot though, long and wide and bright white, not at all spoiled by the 19th Century lighthouse at one end and the people camping at the other. All along the sand is decorated by sunbathers, and along the promenade are people sipping their cocktails or eating their fish and chips enjoying the view.

This is a pretty place to go for a stroll, poke your nose into some unique little boutiques and snack on ice cream of Fischbreotchen with herring (like a fish roll.). For more active visitors there's also kitesurfing, windsurfing and banana boat rides – but the water is cold remember.
