British paper, The Times, ranked Vestvagoy's beaches as being Europe's most romantic with their spectacular cliffs and mountain views. The largest of Norway Lofoten Islands, Vestagoy is pocked with several quaint villages which serve as standard stops for cruise lines and boat tours.
The sun never seems to set on Vestagoy early in the summer... literally. From May 26 to July 17, the sun stays above the horizon line. On the flip side the sun stays below from December 9 to January 4.
Vestagoy's green hills and farmland and white, sandy beaches are an idyllically romantic backdrop.
