Surfers is a Gold Coast suburb famous for its strip of high rise apartment blocks and hotels in front of a wide surf beach, great weather, nightlife and meter maids dressed in gold lame bikinis.

This is a total tourist town, there are several local theme parks and purpose built (read contrived) ‘attractions’ like bungee jumping, ice skating and mini car racing. Very Vegas, lots of nightlife, fun and lots of people.

Definitely the place to be for surf, sun, and new experiences. As an admittedly awkward yet determined amateur surfer, the waves and turf got the best of me. However, the wide variety of surfing lessons and instructors out there offer most anyone a chance to get their feet wet in something fun, (quite literally!) Let's not forget, everyone looks good in a wetsuit, eh?
