Sidi Ali el-Mekki beach is just along the coastline from Raf Raf, which is also known for clean white sand and clear waters. There aren’t many houses around, just the very shallow lagoon connected to the sea by a small channel – which is why this place used to be so popular with pirates and naval men. Now that the lagoon is all but filled with sand the tiny town has gone back to being a fishing village – less dramatic, but no less picturesque and better for visitors looking for a clean quite bit of sand to relax on.

There aren’t even any hotels around, just a café near the parking lot, but if you bring your tent you can camp by the beach like the locals.
