In a desert country like Egypt how can you tell where the desert ends and the beach starts some people ask? Well, the beach is the bit where the sand is like caster sugar, and arranged in beautiful arcs around a bright blue bay. This coast continues in unblemished beauty along the coastline with only Bedouin villages and expensive beach resort hotels interfering with the horizon. Even the weather is in your favour, the only thing that isn’t is the price tag.
Beach and wide expanses of beautiful desert aside, Al Alamin was famous as a WW2 battleground, yes, that’s where you heard the name before, and there are many tombs and monuments to soldiers from all sides here. It’s now more famous for its resorts and hotels.
