“The beach of sleep” is nestled on the edge of the luscious walls belonging to the Mata Atlantica rainforest. People looking for an escape or an easier way of life have been crossing the rough water from Paraty for many years now. The golden sand curves around the towering trees which shroud it from the outside. If you choose to walk to the beach, your exit from the weave of the emerald leaves will bring you to a place whose crystalline waters have been hidden from many. A Mecca for hippies, Praia do Sono has a laid back, communal atmosphere. There is no infrastructure on the bay but local fishermen sometimes offer you some food and drink, but feel free to bring your own. Unlike many other beaches in Brazil, you are allowed to camp on the sand. Stay as long as you want, it doesn’t get much easier than this.
