There's not much to do in Porto Santo but revel along the nine kilometres of golden sandy beach met by water clear as crystal. There are snack bars and huts along the stretch of beach, offering some form of comfort or sustenance from showers and somewhere to change, to the basic cold drinks, to a slap up meal served with something alcoholic on the side.

Walking along the beach you might notice signs with different names on them – despite the fact that you can see this beach as one long stretch without being broken by cliffs or a headland, the beach actually has five different sections with different names – the locals know them.
