Ninety Mile Beach, actually 55 miles in length, is renowned for its natural beauty. On its northern stretch, dramatic sand dunes loom over the beach. Tobogganing down the dunes is a favorite of locals and tourists alike. A huge variety of wildlife lives on and around Ninety Mile Beach, which will eventually lead you up to Cape Reinga. One of the northernmost points in New Zealand, Cape Reinga is known for its historic lighthouse.
