These sands are golden and sculptured into dunes and flats just beyond a bright blue stretch of ocean. The dunes run back from the water for about a mile and the length of the beach spans about three kilometres between the towns of Playa del Ingles and Faro.

The length of Maspalomas beach is conveniently divided into four sections, the first for families, the second and forth are naturist stretches and between them is a stretch favoured by the gay community. The popularity of this beach ensures there's facilities and amenities for all, from watersports gear hire to cafes, bars and restaurants.
