Lulworth Cove is an almost perfect semi circle of narrow pale sand bellow steep yet rounded green hills, so it looks a bit like a bowl of blue green loveliness. It's part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site close to a rock arch less charmingly named the Durdle Door.

If we were to be scientific about it the reason for the bay's shape is the the chalk at the back of the bay has been eroded much more slowly than the clay and sand on the bay's sides – but feel free to make up a far more lovely reason to tell your kids when you bring them here, along with the thousands of others in the summer, or out of season when you'll find it more windswept and interesting.
