This beach takes some getting to but it’s worth it for three reasons: more towel space and less crowds, it’s a really really pretty, wilderness-y spot, and it’s a breeding spot for Green and Loggerhead Turtles.

The bay scoops round in a horseshoe shape decorated by a mixture of champagne coloured sand and pebbles and is lined by a peninsular of wilderness.

In nesting season the beach is partly off limits so the best time to come here is in the springtime. If it’s closed when you arrive there are some more coves further along the coast that deserve to be perused. Either way you’re going to need a four wheel drive or some sturdy shoes to reach the bay, but it’s not all wilderness, there’s an open air restaurant right on the beach. Hungry turtles? More like hungry turtle conservationists.
