Voted by 'Dr Beach' as one of his lesser known favourites, this Gulf Coast Panhandle beach is at the centre of a long, wide, 20 mile stretch mixed with dunes and freshwater lakes. The attraction here is the town - an eccentric old southern US beach town, with strong community and great vibes for visitors. There's plenty for families, as well as wild and rugged walks to neighbouring beach towns.
