Follow a sign to Restaurant Sa Caleta along an unsurfaced road down a ragged cliff line and you’ll discover at the bottom a beautiful narrow cove, just 15 metres of sand from the orange cliffs to the sea. Shallow, clear water greets toes hot from driving and you can wade out a long way from the cliffs before the water hits waist level and even once you’re in shoulder deep you can still see your toes clearly.
This beach’s drama is man made, it was cut out of the rocks, which is why the cliffs are still so ragged looking. The shallow water means it’s popular with families and it’s very busy at the weekends – but it’s also a perfectly romantic hideaway mid week…
