The beautiful clear, water, of you know what colour, of Blue Bay is close to Mahebourg. Which means it’s easy to get to. Which means that it’s busy on the weekends, but on weekdays it’s pretty quiet – so especially desirable for photographers looking for an empty beach with myriad shades of blue.

The sand is pale and flecked with coral and lined with trees.

As well as the photographers this beach is also popular with snorkellers and divers.
